Chapter 6
They’d told her to stay back and observe, so she did. Then it all went to hell. That’s how Sair ended up knocking the witch unconscious with a pressure point hold from behind, then binding her with the spelled cuffs and gag before she could return to consciousness.
The rest of the team and two bystanders were all in various states of confusion or passed out around the shop, so Sair locked the door, drew the blinds, and went to wake Amelia first as she was another medic and could help.
“Damned spell bombs,” Amelia muttered as she sat up and took the bottle of water Saoirse offered.
“I got you first, after I bound Selena, because everyone is down, as well as the two people who were shopping,” Saoirse told her. “I’ve not dealt with magical attacks on others as a medic, so I don’t want to screw up.”
“You took the training though, so you should be good. Just see if you can figure out what she was using,” Amelia told her. “I’ll be on my feet in a moment. Did you use the Clarity potion on me?”
“Yeah,” Saoirse replied. “But she hit the guys with something different than you. They’re not unconscious, just laying there, eyes wide open.”
“Probably a stun spell,” Amelia said. “They can hear and everything, but can’t move. I’ve got something in my bag that will work – an Activate potion. Here, you do one, I’ll do the other, then we’ll let them haul the witch out to the camper while we take care of the collateral damage.”
