Chapter 5
The restaurant was one that usually required reservations, but Declan had called them earlier and they’d been given a table near the windows that allowed a view of the river and the lights of boats floating past.
The food was excellent, the conversation relaxed, and between dinner and dessert, he led her onto the dance floor for a slow dance.
“I’m glad you agreed to come to dinner with me,” Declan murmured as they swayed to the music.
“I’m glad I did, too. The food was excellent and the conversation has been nice. We’re always so focused on training and stuff that we never really get to know each other outside of work,” Saoirse said.
Declan leaned back a little to look down into her face. “I’m always focused on you, einin. Whether we’re working or not.”
A small smirk curled Sair’s face. “I’ve noticed. I don’t mind you being focused, but there’s a time and a place where that’s okay. In the tower during training, is not the place for that.”
“Ah, but it is. How else are you going to learn to work even when there are multiple distractions around you?”
Sair quirked a brow and leaned in. “I can concentrate just fine, unless it’s your hard-on pressed against my ass.”
