Chapter Nine

When the party started to break up, Rizzo gave Lacey a hug and ordered a car to get her home. “I’m going to go change and help Blake and Finn at Blake’s place, so he can get home faster. You go put your feet up and enjoy your time with Suri.”

“I will. Love you, sis,” Lacey said.

“I love you, too. Now, go,” Rizzo replied and got into the car.

As they got closer to her block, the smell of smoke and the flashing lights told her something was wrong. The street was blocked off, so the car turned around and Rizzo stared. Her building was burning. Fully engulfed in flames with trucks spraying streams of water that shot smoke into the sky, her home was gone.
