Chapter Eight

Gina left the next morning after they’d had a call from Rico while they ate coffee and a frittata Gina had put together.  

Rico informed them that he’d been attacked after getting the tire changed on the bus. He fought the four man team and been tossed into the SUV. He had jumped out when they slowed at a traffic light and ran. They had his keys, and wallet, but he’d eventually found someone willing to loan him a phone. He’d spent a couple of nights with some homeless veterans and they helped him hide. He was now home, clean, fed and healing up. As for the body, it was one of the attackers who Rico had taken out.

Gina had only been gone about ten minutes when Rizzo’s phone rang again. Unknown number. She hit the button to answer the call and heard, “We know where you live. You will pay.” Then the call disconnected.
