Chapter Ten
Rizzo left the bathroom after her call to Gina, and joined the men in the living room. They unrolled the carpet then started to place the furniture when Blake’s phone rang again. He took the call in the kitchen, then came back in and gave Rizzo a strange look.
“What? What was the call that has you looking at me like that?” Rizzo said.
“They’re still waiting for the fire to be completely out, but someone called them and said they saw you and a woman on a black motorcycle, pouring gasoline outside your building. We know where you were, so we know it’s bullshit, but what about this woman?” Blake asked.
“My friend Gina stayed a couple of days earlier this week. She rides a black motorcycle. She’s not even in the state right now and hasn’t been for three or four days. I called her earlier to tell her about the fire, so I know she’s fine.”
“Then the person who burned your place has been watching you for a while now,” Blake said.
“I need to go make sure Lacey is okay,” Finn said. “I can come back tomorrow to help you move more stuff.”
