Chapter Twenty
Later that evening, after dinner, they curled up together in Rizzo’s bed. If she put her lips near his ear, he could hear her, and if he whispered, she could hear him without his yelling. They talked over the offer for about an hour. The good, the bad, the stuff they might have to do that they hadn’t considered. All of it.
In the end, they decided they wanted to work together, but would give it a couple of days before they gave Foley an answer. Too quick a response would make them look too eager, and they needed to set the ground rules from the beginning.
“Just remember, Blake. I’m an independent woman. I may love you, but I need my own space,” Rizzo said.
“I know, and I appreciate that about you,” Blake replied. “And I love you.” He kissed her then and she forgot what she had been about to say.
